Courier and Royal Mail Delivery Options

The Realtime Despatch system allows labels to be produced automatically, with no need for the user to access the courier systems to produce the labels needed to pack and despatch orders. Wher appropriate the tracking reference needed to track the provress of a delivery is inserted in to the despatch notification email sent to the recipient.

The standard implementation supports the following delivery options:

Initial City Link - CLAN integration

If an order is to be despatched using City Link the packer is prompted to specify whether the order is a LinkLetter, CityPack or Parcel and how many labels are required. The recipient name, delivery address information and any delivery instructions are then exported to the City Link CLAN software which produces the required labels.

InterLink Express and Parceline - Ship@Ease integration

If an order is to be despatched using Interlink Express or Parceline the recipient name, delivery address information and any delivery instructions are then exported to the GeoPost Ship@Ease software which produces the required labels.

Royal Mail Packet Post and Parcelforce

The packer can print the required PPI address label with the associated retailer's PPI account number. The packer will be prompted to record the weight of the order before they can mark it as packed. The packet post and parcelforce report will itemise each delivery and then show the number and average weight of parcels in each class.

Royal Mail Deliveries

The packer can print the required address labels, the packer may be prompted to record the weight of the order and value of the carriage charge if the delivery otions are configured to make these field mandatory. The Royal Mail report will itemise each delivery and then show the totals for each category of Royal Mail delivery (registered, special delivery, first class, second class).

Other Courier Options

The system makes it easy to define the format of address labels and courier manifests, the modular design of the service means that other courier services can be easily integrated as required.
