Optimise your order processing workflows
The Realtime Despatch system does not insist on all orders being treated in the same way. Incoming orders can be allocated to the appropriate workflow to ensure all orders are processed as efficently as possible.
The workflows described below are examples of how different processes can run concurrently in the same environment. The workflows that suit your business will be configured as part of the Realtime Despatch implementation.
Single-line orders, labels produced on integrated stationery
Batches of 100 orders are picked in location order, making the pick process as efficient as possible. The despatch notes include a peel-off address label and are printed in the same order.
The items to be packed and the corresponding paperwork are presented to the packer together.
Multi-line orders, labels produced on integrated stationery
Batches of 50 orders are picked by order reference, with the picker consolidating the items needed for each order as a part of the picking process. The packer is presented with the items required for each order, along with the associated despatch note that includes the peel-off address label.
High value and priority orders, integrated courier labelling
A picking screen displays a realtime view of all high value and priority orders that need to be picked, these are picked and presented to a packer as soon as they are received into the Realtime Despatch environment.
The packer scans the barcode on any of the items they receive, they are then prompted to scan the other items required to pack a multi-line order or, once all the line-items have been correctly scanned, are asked to select the appropriate courier option.
The packer can then produce the appropriate courier label, with the courier tracking reference being automatically being captured by Realtime Despatch.
Back orders matched with incoming stock
Incoming stock can be automatically associated with pending orders as part of the check-in process. Incoming stock can be passed directly to the packing process rather than being put away and having to be immediately picked.
Configuring the appropriate workflows for the different types of orders that your business needs to support will significantly improve the throughput and accuracy of your despatch process.
